Thank you for enrolling your child in the Oakland Coders Club. To ensure a safe, respectful, and productive experience, we require parents/guardians to read, understand, and agree to the following terms:

1. Assumption of Risk

By signing this waiver, I, the undersigned parent/guardian, understand and acknowledge that:

• The Oakland Coders Club is held in a space adjacent to a wine bar, which may expose my child to environments not specifically tailored to children.

• Participation in the program involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to, injury, accidental harm, or exposure to inappropriate content through the internet.

• I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my child’s participation in the Oakland Coders Club.

2. Internet Use and Responsibility

The Oakland Coders Club promotes safe internet use. However:

• I understand and accept that my child may have access to the internet during the program and may unintentionally or otherwise visit inappropriate websites.

• The Oakland Coders Club and its staff are not liable for any harm, exposure, or damages resulting from internet use during the program.

3. Release of Liability

I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Oakland Coders Club, its staff, the wine bar owners, and all associated parties from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from my child’s participation in the program, including but not limited to:

• Injury, illness, or harm sustained during program activities.

• Any incidents related to the wine bar environment or use of the facilities.

• Any damages or consequences arising from internet use or exposure.

4. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, I authorize the Oakland Coders Club staff to secure necessary medical care for my child. I agree to assume all costs associated with such medical care.

5. Behavior and Conduct

I acknowledge that:

• The Oakland Coders Club reserves the right to remove any participant from the program for inappropriate behavior, including actions that compromise the safety or well-being of others.

• In such cases, no refunds will be provided.

6. Parental Responsibility

By signing this waiver, I affirm that:

• I am the legal parent/guardian of the child enrolled in the Oakland Coders Club.

• I understand that I am ultimately responsible for my child’s actions and conduct during the program.
